Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account yourself in the app. If you no longer have the app, an e-mail is enough. Both are free and you do not have to give a reason.
Effective from {{DOPLNIT: datum účinnosti}}
This is a translation. The Czech version of this document is the binding one; in case of any discrepancy, the Czech wording prevails.
This page is public on purpose. You can have your account deleted even if you already uninstalled Meditee or changed phones — no sign-in and no installation needed.
1. From the app
Open Meditee and go to Account → Settings → Delete account. You confirm once and it happens immediately.
The same path works on the web, on Mac and on iPhone.
2. Without the app
Write to {{DOPLNIT: kontaktní e-mail}} from the e-mail address on your account and say that you want the account deleted. You do not have to prove anything else.
We handle requests within 30 days at the latest, usually within a few working days. We send you a confirmation once it is done.
Did you sign in with Google or Apple? Write from the address you used for that sign-in. With Apple it may be a hidden address ending in …@privaterelay.appleid.com — that is fine, we will recognise it.
3. What gets deleted
- The account: e-mail, name, language and password hash.
- The links to your Google and Apple accounts.
- Your whole library: liked tracks and playlists, saved articles, followed artists and your own playlists.
- Listening history and the daily totals that the weekly overview is calculated from.
- The opening questionnaire and all settings, including the reminder time.
- All signed-in devices and active sessions — including the phone you no longer have.
- The creator application, including bio, links, billing address, company ID, VAT ID and bank details.
Deletion cannot be undone. Everything disappears from the database immediately, and from the encrypted server backups within {{DOPLNIT: doba, za kterou se přepíše nejstarší záloha}} at the latest.
Music you downloaded to your device is removed by uninstalling the app or clearing the app's data in your browser. We cannot reach it.
4. What stays and why
| What | How long | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Tax documents for a paid subscription | 10 years | Czech accounting and VAT law does not let us delete them |
| Messages you sent to support — but without the e-mail address and without any link to the account | 3 years | We need an overview of reported problems, not of people; once the account is gone the message cannot be traced back to anyone |
| A record that the account was deleted | 3 years | So we can show the request was handled |
None of this contains your library or your listening history. It is accounting records, an anonymised message text and a note that the request was handled.
5. Your subscription
Deleting the account does not by itself cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play — the store manages it, not us. Please cancel it in the subscription settings of your Apple ID or Google account, otherwise it will keep renewing.
A subscription paid directly with us ends when the account is deleted. If you want to discuss a refund, say so in the same e-mail; the conditions are in the Terms of Service.
6. Deleting the data but keeping the account
If you want a fresh start but want to keep the account, delete your liked tracks, your own playlists and your downloads in the app. We will reset your listening history and settings on request — write to {{DOPLNIT: kontaktní e-mail}}.
If you want a copy of your data before deleting it, ask at {{DOPLNIT: e-mail pro osobní údaje}}. We will send it within 30 days in a machine-readable format.
