Terms of Service
The conditions for using Meditee, how the subscription works and what happens when you decide to stop.
Effective from {{DOPLNIT: datum účinnosti}}
Diese Seite ist auf Englisch. Meditee führt die Rechtstexte auf Tschechisch und Englisch. Verbindlich ist die tschechische Fassung; bei Abweichungen gilt der tschechische Wortlaut.
Meditee is operated by {{DOPLNIT: obchodní jméno}}, Company ID (IČO) {{DOPLNIT: IČO}}, registered office at {{DOPLNIT: sídlo}} (“we”). These terms form the contract between us and you. They apply to the Meditee app on the web, on Mac and on iPhone, and to the website {{DOPLNIT: doména webu}}.
We wrote them so they can actually be read. Wherever possible we use plain words instead of legal ones. That does not change what they mean.
1. Who provides the service
The provider is {{DOPLNIT: obchodní jméno}}, Company ID (IČO) {{DOPLNIT: IČO}}, registered office at {{DOPLNIT: sídlo}}, {{DOPLNIT: zápis v rejstříku — např. registered in the Czech Trade Licensing Register kept by …}}. VAT ID: {{DOPLNIT: DIČ, nebo „neplátce DPH“ / not VAT registered}}.
Our contact address is {{DOPLNIT: kontaktní e-mail}}. The postal address is the registered office above. Supervision is carried out by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (coi.cz) and the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (uoou.cz).
2. What Meditee is
Meditee is a service for listening to calm and joyful music. It offers tracks, nature sounds with a sleep mixer, playlists, short articles to read, and a simple library where you keep what you like.
Music is streamed from our server. In Settings you can download it to your device and it then plays without a connection. Downloaded files stay inside the app and are meant only for listening in Meditee.
3. Your account and how the contract is made
You need an account to use Meditee. You create one with an e-mail address and a password, or by signing in with Google or Apple. The contract is made when you finish the sign-up.
The details you give at sign-up must be true. Do not share your password; you are responsible for what happens under your account. If you suspect someone else got in, write to us.
One account belongs to one person. The contract does not allow sharing your credentials with other people.
Meditee is intended for people aged {{DOPLNIT: minimální věk, doporučeno 15 let}} and over. A younger user needs the consent of a legal guardian.
4. Subscription, trial period and prices
After signing up you get a trial period of {{DOPLNIT: délka zkušebního období, v aplikaci je zatím 14 dní}}. During it the whole service is available at no charge.
After the trial, access to the music continues on a subscription:
| Plan | Price | Renews |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | {{DOPLNIT: cena měsíčního předplatného}} | every month |
| Yearly | {{DOPLNIT: cena ročního předplatného}} | every year |
Prices are final and include tax. {{DOPLNIT: pokud jste plátce DPH, doplňte sazbu a režim}}.
We may change prices. A change never affects a period you have already paid for — we announce it at least 30 days ahead and you can cancel before the new period starts.
5. Payments and renewal
The subscription is paid in advance for the whole period. Payments are processed by {{DOPLNIT: poskytovatel plateb — např. App Store, Google Play, platební brána}}; we never see your card number.
The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. Cancel at the latest 24 hours before the period ends. A subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play is managed by the store — cancel it in the subscription settings of your Apple ID or Google account, not with us. We cannot see it and cannot cancel it for you.
After cancelling, the subscription runs to the end of the paid period and then stops. We do not refund an unused part of a period, except in the cases below and where the law says otherwise.
6. Withdrawing from the contract within 14 days
If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of making it, without giving a reason. Just write to {{DOPLNIT: kontaktní e-mail}}; no form and no explanation needed.
Meditee is digital content delivered immediately. By ticking the consent box at checkout you ask us to start delivering straight away and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal ends once the content has been delivered in full. Until you ask for immediate delivery, the 14-day period runs normally.
If you withdraw in time, we refund all payments received within 14 days, by the same means you used to pay.
For a purchase made through the App Store or Google Play, refunds are handled by the store under its own rules. Write to us anyway and we will help, even when the money comes back from the store.
7. How to use Meditee
You may listen to the music and sounds and read the articles in Meditee for your personal use. The details are in the licence terms.
You may not:
- download the content other than through the offline listening feature inside the app,
- redistribute, sell or upload the content elsewhere, play it in public, or use it in podcasts, videos or advertising without a separate licence,
- circumvent technical measures, attempt to access other people's accounts, or overload the service with automated requests,
- interfere with the app's code beyond what the law expressly permits.
For a serious or repeated breach of these rules we may restrict or close the account. We will warn you first and give you reasonable time to put it right where the nature of the breach allows. If we close an account without good reason, we refund the proportional part of the subscription.
8. Availability and changes to the content
We do our best to keep Meditee running, but we do not guarantee it. The service may be down for maintenance, for an update, or for reasons on the hosting provider's side. We announce planned downtime in advance where possible.
The music catalogue evolves — tracks and playlists are added and, rarely, may disappear. We do not promise that a particular track stays available forever. We will not, however, reduce the service so much that it no longer matches what we promised and what you paid for.
We update the app continuously. Some updates may require a newer version of your operating system.
9. Defects and complaints
The service is defective if it does not match what we promised or does not work as can reasonably be expected. Report a defect to {{DOPLNIT: kontaktní e-mail}}. We handle complaints within 30 days.
We will first try to fix the defect. If that is not possible within a reasonable time, you are entitled to a discount on the subscription or to withdraw from the contract. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights under the Czech Civil Code are not affected.
10. Liability
We are liable for damage we cause by breaching our obligations. We are not liable for damage caused by using Meditee contrary to these terms or to the warning in section 2.
If you are not a consumer, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service over the last twelve months. We do not limit our statutory liability towards consumers in any way.
11. Ending the contract and deleting your account
You can end the contract at any time by deleting your account. How to do it is on the Deleting your account page — it works with or without the app.
Deleting the account also ends your licence to use the app. We do not refund an unused part of the subscription in that case, unless the contract ended for a reason on our side.
We may also end the contract, with 30 days' notice, or immediately in case of a serious breach of these terms. If we do, we refund the proportional part of the subscription for the unused period.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms if the service, our costs or the law change. We will tell you by e-mail and in the app at least 30 days in advance.
If you do not agree with a change, you can end the contract before it takes effect and get back the proportional part of your subscription for the unused period. If you keep using the service, the new wording applies from its effective date.
13. Governing law and disputes
The contract is governed by Czech law, in particular Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code. If you are a consumer in another EU country, you keep the rights given to you by the mandatory rules of your country.
We will try to settle any dispute by agreement. As a consumer you can turn to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (coi.cz), the out-of-court body for consumer disputes, or to the European online dispute resolution platform.
If no agreement is possible, the ordinary courts of the Czech Republic decide.
14. Apple and Google
Apple and Google are not parties to this contract and are not responsible for Meditee or its content. If you got the app through the App Store, Apple's terms of use apply alongside these terms; where the two conflict, Apple's rules prevail.
Address complaints about the service to us, not to the store. If the app fails to conform to the description, Apple may refund the purchase price; any further claims remain against us.
15. Final provisions
If any provision is invalid, the rest of these terms remain in force.
These terms are binding in their Czech wording. Translations into other languages are for information only. If anything is unclear, write to {{DOPLNIT: kontaktní e-mail}} — the person who wrote Meditee answers.
